Up front... I have owned one of these for about a yearly and carry it daily. I lost it, I just bought a new one. For my lifestyle, it is a remarkably useful device:
- small enough to always carry
- not every tool in the world, but, the ones I need:
-Philips head
-Pry bar (I didnt know I needed it so much until I had one every day)
-Bottle opener (*hic*)
-Exacto-Knife -- box opener, precision cutting, easily replaceable so always sharp
The flat head isnt so great (too fat), but, everything else is pretty good.
So why 3 stars for a product that could easily be a 5 star product for its category? I have owned 2 of them and each had its own special unique problem...
-The first one, _kinda_ held the exacto blades in place, but, not firmly. They didnt seat properly and it made certain tasks a little difficult.
-The current one, DID NOT OPEN!!! WTF? Oddest problem I have ever had with a folding knife. Using a tool to gently pry open the ultrasharp blade of death about 20 degrees, I was able to remove the blade and then use my hands without fear -- not enough strength. The torx screw was torqued to extreme levels. I was able to pry it about 30 degrees open and latch on to it with a vise-grip. From there I was able to work it enough that it now can be opened and closed without tools, but, not 1 handed like my 1st one...
If they made a knife, consistently, that worked as advertised, 5 stars. The fact that each purchase will be a mystery of problems -- 3 stars.
